Does this crack passwords?
No. You must know the password. This tool removes the protection from a PDF you can already open.
Why does the file size change?
Unlocking goes through a re-render step (the underlying library can decrypt PDFs but not write encrypted PDFs back out). Vector text becomes raster. If quality matters, run it once and keep the unlocked copy.
