Edit PDF Metadata Without Uploading — Strip Author & Dates

Drop a PDF to see its metadata, edit or strip any field, and download a clean copy — processed locally. Critical when sharing documents externally: PDF metadata routinely leaks author names, software, and timestamps that can identify the original creator. Nothing is uploaded.

Every claim on this page is auditable in 30 seconds:

  1. Open browser DevTools (F12 or Cmd+Opt+I).
  2. Switch to the Network tab and tick Preserve log.
  3. Run the tool with your file.
  4. You'll see requests for the page, library code, and ad pixels — never for your PDF.

Even better: load the page, then turn off Wi-Fi. The tool still works, because there's nowhere for the file to go.

FAQ

Why strip dates?

PDF metadata often includes when a file was created or last modified, which can leak info you'd rather not share (e.g. that you backdated a document).

Can I edit XMP metadata?

Not yet — this tool edits the standard Document Info dictionary. XMP support is planned.
